2018 Volunteer Leadership Awards

Each year, White & Case honors a select group of individuals with our Volunteer Leadership Awards in recognition of their substantial contributions to our charitable and community projects. The following people were recognized in 2018 for work over the prior 12 months.

For organizing volunteering events and fundraising activities, including a tree planting and book drive, as well as spearheading locally sustainable purchasing for the office

Salim Den Hondt (Brussels)
For organizing an annual office go-kart race to benefit a global children's charity

Carrie Ellwanger (Brussels)
For organizing office support for a local homeless charity

Nadia Flecha Guazo (Brussels)
For organizing fundraising activities, including bake sales to support a mental health organization and a local homeless charity

Fabienne Reveillon (Brussels)
For organizing donation drives for two local charities serving the poor

Pauline Tart (Brussels)
For overall leadership in volunteering and charitable fundraising, including support for the Belgian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and food, clothing, and toy drives

Sonia Vandeneycken (Brussels)
For organizing fundraising events to support two charities that serve the homeless and an international human rights organization

For organizing fundraising activities for the chosen charity of the White & Case Football & Volleyball World Cup

For developing a client collaboration focused on employing youth, specifically establishing a joint mentoring program for law students

For organizing volunteer events sorting toys for families of asylum seekers with the International Red Cross as part of White & Case's Global Volunteering Week

For organizing an office campaign to recycle bottles and caps to fundraise for children with cancer

Mexico City Office (Mexico City)
For organizing disaster relief efforts, including the donation and delivery of medical, food and clothing, to communities affected by earthquakes in Mexico in September 2017

For overall support of global citizenship initiatives, including a monthly charity raffle and fundraising for a local food charity

For overall support of global citizenship initiatives, including the holiday toy drive, a park renovation and fundraising for a local food charity

For organizing an office cycling team for a bike race to benefit a local charity that supports victims of domestic violence

For spearheading numerous volunteer efforts and supporting the Firm's social media activity for the Jessup Competition

For overall support of global citizenship initiatives, including an annual backpack drive

For organizing a volunteering event with a local orphanage

Noorliza Mohd Ali (Singapore)
For overall support of global citizenship efforts, including organizing a volunteering event and tutoring girls who live in one of the largest children's homes in Singapore

For supporting an office-wide fundraising event to construct and transport sling-boats for residents of a local village to cross crocodile-infested rivers.

For support of an internship program for students affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, including hosting a student in her home for a week

For organizing fundraising and volunteer events, including a charity marathon, an internship program for students affected by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami, and for serving as Treasurer of the office Social Responsibility Committee

For organizing a charity run, a clean river aid event and a bake sale to benefit a social welfare charity

Miyuki Tsuchida (Tokyo)
For organizing a charity run and efforts to collaborate with clients on global citizenship initiatives

Monika Pakulska (Warsaw)
For leading the effort to create a book showcasing the art in the Warsaw office

Gabriela Baca (Washington, DC)
For spearheading volunteer and fundraising efforts for a charity race to support the American Heart Association

Cindy Maimone (Washington DC)
For overall support of global citizenship efforts, including an annual backpack drive, a charity race and weekly Denim Day program

Jeffrey Stellhorn (Washington DC)
For overall support of global citizenship efforts, including a Polar Bear Plunge and charity races
