Acting for Bernard Collaery, the former Attorney-General of the ACT and lawyer for Timor L'este, in relation to his criminal charges under the Intelligence Services Act 2001, along with partner Kate Harrison at Gilbert + Tobin. The case in the ACT Supreme Court involved important issues as to the application of Australia's national security laws. *

Acting for renowned journalist Peter Greste and his family in respect of his incarceration in an Egyptian gaol on 'terrorism' related charges during the Arab Spring, from which he was freed after 400 days.  This case involved important issues of public international law, press freedom and human rights. *

Assisting counsel retained to assist to resist the capital punishment of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran in Indonesia. *
