The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) awarded global law firm White & Case LLP "Legal or Professional Services of the Year" for 2020 in its second annual FIDIC Contracts Awards, announced on December 1.
The FIDIC Contracts Awards aim to recognize excellence in the use of FIDIC contract forms for project delivery and showcase examples of good practice through collaboration from across the world. Winners of the awards embody real achievement and are a testimony to the great work carried out by the individual, team, project or organization.

The White & Case Construction & Engineering Practice advises clients across the globe, with a client base that spans governments and states, energy and utility companies, developers, contractors and lenders. Its experience with the FIDIC forms, the most widely used standard forms of construction contract internationally, is particularly notable. The Firm advised FIDIC on its updates to the FIDIC contracts in 2017. In 2010, a White & Case team authored FIDIC Contracts: Law and Practice, which has become one of the leading industry guides to using the FIDIC contract forms. A second edition of this text is currently being prepared. Another group member was part of the working group authoring FIDIC's "Conditions of Contract for Underground Works" (popularly known as the Emerald Book), and yet another is a longstanding Legal Advisor to the FIDIC Contracts Committee.
