Mickaël Rivollier
Biography
Overview
Mickaël Rivollier is counsel in the Competition, EU Law and Economic Regulation practice of White & Case in Paris. Mickaël represents and assists clients in relation to alleged anti-competitive practices (including follow-on damages claims), and merger control.
Mickaël also has a significant experience in the drafting and negotiation of French or international distribution agreements as well as in litigation in relation to the performance or termination of such agreements. He successfully assisted several operators in proceedings launched by the French Ministry of the Economy (DGCCRF) on the ground of alleged abusive commercial practices.
Mickaël's experience also includes the assessment of promotional operations and advertising and of the compliance of new products as well as commercial disputes and criminal investigations in relation to these matters, regarding notably food, cosmetic and hygiene products.
Before joining White & Case in 2016, Mickaël was an associate in the Paris office of a major French law firm. From 2010 to 2014, Mickaël was a lecturer in Distribution Agreements Law at the University of Paris-Est Créteil (Master in Contracts and Commercial Practices Law).
Experience
Assisting Casino Group with the creation of two cooperative joint ventures with Conforama (Steinhoff Group) in charge of negotiating purchasing conditions for France (Mano) and international services (SICA) with the main international suppliers of household appliances.
Advising Casino Group in the sale of its food retail subsidiary (Big C and C-Express shops) in Vietnam in relation to merger control matters.
Assisted a cartel member fined by the European Commission in a follow-on damages claim brought before the French courts by a French food group.*
Assisted a French pharmaceutical laboratory in its successful lawsuits against a drug wholesaler and in defence of a claim by the latter before the French Competition Authority.*
Assisted a leading manufacturer of consumer goods in the lawsuit initiated by one of its competitors on the ground of alleged unfair competition acts (resale-at-a-loss).*
Assisted Casino before the French Competition Authority in its full acquisition of Monoprix (Phase 2 clearance and performance of the remedies).*
