Biography

Overview

Nataliia Tuzheliak is an associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. Her practice includes both commercial and investment arbitration, with a focus on energy and construction disputes. She also has experience with dispute board proceedings.

Nataliia is trained in both civil and common law. Prior to joining White & Case, Nataliia worked as a litigator in Ukraine and gained experience in international law and dispute resolution in major international law firms and barristers' chambers in London and Paris.

Nataliia is a winner of White & Case's Pro Bono Award. She currently assists Trial International and Public International Law & Policy Group on a series of matters related to Ukraine and serves on the Board of the International Law Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association.

Experience

Nataliia's recent experience includes:

Representing Georgia in SCC and ICSID arbitrations brought by a major Russian energy company and its subsidiaries in relation to a dispute over the regulation of electricity tariffs;

Representing a cryptocurrency group in LCIA arbitrations regarding sponsorship agreements in the sports industry;

Representing an Eastern European company in Dispute Board proceedings relating to the construction of a water management project;

Represented the Roads Department of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia in successful ICC arbitrations and Dispute Board proceedings against contractors under the FIDIC Pink Book form of construction contract;

Advised an Uzbekistan gas transportation company in relation to a potential dispute related to disrupted deliveries of natural gas;

Represented a Ukrainian company in an SCC arbitration concerning the delivery and handling of chemicals;*

Represented Ukraine, the Respondent in an ICSID arbitration initiated by Emergofin BV and Velbay Holdings Ltd under the Netherlands-Ukraine bilateral investment treaty in connection with the dispute related to an aluminium and alumina production company;* and

Represented an Eastern European investor in an LCIA arbitration concerning a uranium mining and exploration project in Mongolia.*
