White & Case Advises Igneo Infrastructure Partners on acquisition of Victoria's Lal Lal Wind Farms

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Igneo Infrastructure Partners (Igneo) on its acquisition of a majority equity stake in the Lal Lal Wind Farms Partnership from Macquarie Green Investment Group and London fund manager InfraRed Capital Partners in a competitive process run by Macquarie Capital.
"The Igneo team has again demonstrated its ability to execute on the most strategic M&A opportunities in the Australian renewables market, with an acquisition that bolsters Igneo's already significant Australian renewables platform Atmos Renewables," said White & Case partner Nirangjan Nagarajah who led the Firm's deal team. "Our team advised Igneo on the M&A strategy and execution, securing a comprehensive warranty and indemnity insurance package, existing project contracts with Vestas and RES Australia as well as navigating the partnership agreement underpinning the project."
Following completion of the transaction, Canada's Northleaf Capital Partners will continue to hold the remaining 40 percent in the partnership.
The Lal Lal Wind Farms operate a 228MW portfolio consisting of the Yendon Wind Farm (144MW) and the Elaine Wind Farm (84MW) and is the fourth largest fully operational wind farm in Victoria, located 20 kilometers south east of Ballarat.
