Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Paris-based renewable energy company Neoen on its funding from South Australia's Renewable Technology Fund for the feasibility analysis and eventual construction of a renewable hydrogen production facility. The Superhub will be constructed in the State of South Australia and is expected to produce hydrogen from electrolysis of water powered by renewable wind and solar energy, and potentially also battery.
The deal team at White & Case was led by partner Joel Rennie who said, "If constructed, the Superhub will be the world's largest co-located wind, solar and hydrogen production facility in the world. Technology in renewable energy is rapidly evolving, with the Superhub being one of a number of innovative projects we have recently acted on with Neoen in the Australian market".
The Superhub, which is envisaged to complete by March 31, 2021, will have up to 50MW electrolysers with the capacity to produce up to 21,000kgs of H2 per day from new renewable energy generation from solar PV and wind turbines.
