As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, White & Case held this hybrid format event inviting clients to attend physically in London or online from locations across EMEA. Clients who could travel to our London office had the opportunity to meet our team and other industry participants over breakfast.
Our expert White & Case panel included partner and Global Head of Islamic Finance, Debashis Dey on a visit to London; Dubai Debt Finance Partner, Claire Matheson Kirton; London Structured Finance Partner Anthony Colegrave; and Hong Kong Capital Markets Counsel, Xuan Jin speaking online from their respective locations.
The panel covered topics including the impact of AAOIFI standard 59 on Sukuk and bank structures and product categories and an update on Libor transition in Islamic Finance. We were also delighted to welcome Omar Shaikh, Director UKIFC and Managing Director, Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI) who talked about the work of the Global Islamic Finance SDG Taskforce.
