For the second consecutive year, Who's Who Legal has named White & Case LLP 2022 "Pro Bono Firm of the Year" based on the Firm's "outstanding work" in 2021 at its Who's Who Legal Awards 2022.
In the Firm's profile, Who’s Who Legal noted that about 70% of the Firm's attorneys worked on 850 pro bono matters throughout the Firm's offices globally. The publication also highlighted the Firm’s ability to handle both large and complex global cases, and cases that have a profound impact on the lives of individuals locally.
Some of the Firm's noteworthy cases highlighted in the profile include assisting the UN Environment Programme with its bi-annual Global Environmental Report on the Rule of Law, and securing the release of two men who were wrongly incarcerated and obtaining, on their behalf, a life-changing compensation award from the courts. The Firm also secured a landmark US$4.2 billion settlement, alongside Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP and the Education Law Centre, against New York state, which will improve the education of millions of underserved children. In addition, the Firm is advising Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp, which educates minority communities on their rights when interacting with law enforcement bodies.
